Prof. Kerstin de Witt serves as Professor of Recorder and Chamber Music at Cologne University of Music and Dance since 2019, teaching within the Master's program for Historical Instruments and Baroque Singing. She provides weekly 1.5-hour individual instruction and specialized chamber music coaching with emphasis on consort playing using the university's Adrian Brown instrumentarium.
Her artistic focus bridges historical and modern practices, specializing in Renaissance consort repertoire, Italian/French/English high Baroque works, classical csakan literature, and contemporary compositions. She integrates sound aesthetics, articulation techniques, stylistic rhetoric, and ornamentation while fostering innovative interdisciplinary programming approaches.
Her distinguished contributions are recognized through:
- Emsland District Cultural Prize
- Special Prize for Best Interpretation at Calw International Recorder Competition
- Masefield Scholarship from Alfred Toepfer Foundation
As an active performer, she engages audiences internationally through solo performances and membership in three ensembles, documented through numerous CD and radio recordings. She additionally maintains a private therapeutic practice specializing in performance coaching and high sensitivity management.
