Kerstin Weidner is a Professor of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the Department of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatic Medicine, University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus, Technische Universität Dresden, Germany. She serves as Director and Physician-in-Chief of the Psychosomatic Hospital and Outpatient Clinics. Her research focuses on mother-child bonding, perinatal mental health, trauma-related disorders, and women’s mental health. She has held leadership roles in multiple German and international societies, including the German Society for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy (DGPM) and the German Society for Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DGPFG).
Education highlights include an MD from Humboldt-University Berlin (1996), postdoctoral qualification (2007) at TU Dresden, and visiting research at Harvard Medical School and the University of Pittsburgh.
