Kerstin Hamann

Kerstin Hamann is a Pegasus Professor and Senior Associate Dean in the College of Sciences at the University of Central Florida. She holds a Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Political Science from Washington University, with additional specialization in West European Studies. Her roles include leadership as SPSIA Director (2011-2021) and Vice President of the American Political Science Association (APSA).

Her research spans comparative politics, focusing on Western Europe and Spain, particularly labor unions and Spanish political dynamics. Recent work analyzes global child marriage policies and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), emphasizing online education and cognitive factors in student success. She has authored/co-authored books like The Politics of Industrial Relations and Parties, Elections, and Policy Reforms in Western Europe.
