Kerry P. McInerney is a Professor and Director of Graduate and International Programs at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University. He teaches courses in Mortgage & Securities Regulation, Banking Law, Regulatory Compliance, Mediation, and Legal Writing. Previously, he served as Managing Partner of Alabama and Mississippi Litigation for McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce LLC and held leadership roles at Sirote & Permutt PC. McInerney is a certified Peer Reviewer for Quality Matters and speaks frequently on financial services law.
Education: BA in Musical Theater (Birmingham-Southern College, 1992), MA in Acting (Wayne State University, 1995), JD cum laude (Cumberland School of Law, 1998).
Research focuses on financial services regulation, compliance, and mediation advocacy. He has authored over 30 articles and presented at 25+ industry events. Awards include the Birmingham Vulcan Award (Hero category) and Tiffany Spirit Award.
Community involvement includes leadership roles with Project Corporate Leadership, Leadership Birmingham, and charitable boards. Hobbies include fly fishing, woodworking, and marathon running. He is married with three children.
