Dr. Kerry Mann is a Lecturer in Exercise Science and Biomechanics at Charles Sturt University's School of Exercise Science, Sport and Health. As an Accredited Exercise Scientist, her research focuses on biomechanics, movement screening, and injury prevention in pre-elite youth athletes. Her doctoral research investigated lumbopelvic instability as a primary cause of lower limb injuries. Dr. Mann teaches undergraduate courses in biomechanics, functional anatomy, and exercise science.
Her current research examines injury prevention through biomechanical prediction models, specifically investigating how lumbopelvic stability influences injury risk in youth athletes. She has conducted movement screening programs with multiple sports academies including Western Region Academy of Sport and Hunter Academy of Sport.
Dr. Mann maintains active memberships in professional organizations including:
- Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA)
- Sports Medicine Australia (SMA)
- American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
- Australian and New Zealand Society of Biomechanics in Sport (ANZSB)
- International Society of Biomechanics (ISBS)
She has received several research grants including the Compact Seed Grant (2019), Faculty of Science and Health Research Development Scheme (2024), and Return to Research grant (2018). Dr. Mann mentors students in the Biomechanics Research and Innovation Challenge program and serves as a peer reviewer for multiple sports science journals.
