Kerry Holman

Kerry Holman serves as a Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Education and Care within the School of Humanities and Education at Canterbury Christ Church University. Joining the Early Childhood Studies teaching team in October 2015, she transitioned from prior roles in Further Education and diverse early years settings including teaching, management, and sector-wide mentoring to enhance practice and provision.

Her research and teaching expertise centers on Early Childhood Education, with specialized focus on Early Years Teacher Training (EYITT programmes) and mentoring frameworks that improve real-world educational outcomes. She actively develops pedagogical strategies for Levels 0-6 curricula while addressing systemic challenges in early years provision through practitioner-focused innovation.

Recognized through the Enterprise Fellowship Programme, Holman contributes significantly as a link tutor for Early Years Teacher Trainees and mentor development tutor for placement supervisors. Her work bridges academic theory with sector practice, shaping next-generation educators through structured placement support and professional development initiatives across early childhood settings.
