Kerry A. Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. She holds a PhD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and an MSW from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. Previously, she served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Maryland, College Park, under Drs. Brenda Jones Harden and Nathan Fox, managing an NIDA-funded study on early-life adversity’s impact on child development.
Her research focuses on family violence, trauma/child maltreatment, substance abuse, and mental wellbeing among racial/ethnic minorities and marginalized populations. Kerry employs mixed-methods approaches, emphasizing intersectional, equitable, and culturally responsive frameworks. Her work highlights structural inequities and the exclusion of minority groups from research, aiming to address systemic disadvantages through evidence-based insights.
As an educator, Kerry prioritizes student-centered, inclusive pedagogy, integrating diversity, equity, and multicultural strategies. She emphasizes critical discussions on privilege, oppression, and marginalization while fostering a welcoming learning environment.
