Kern Peng is an Engineering Manager at Intel's headquarter in Silicon Valley, leading lab operations for data center product development and the Santa Clara Validation Center. He concurrently serves as a part-time faculty member at multiple Bay Area universities (Stanford, Santa Clara University, UC Berkeley, etc.) and Hong Kong University, teaching courses in engineering management and business disciplines since 2000. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (nanocomposite materials), a Doctorate of Business Administration (Operations Management & MIS), an MBA in Computer Information Systems, and a BS in Industrial Engineering.
Research & Education: His work spans engineering design, software development, and project management, with publications in journals like the Engineering Management Journal of IIE and Tsinghua Business Review. He authored five solo books on related topics. Beyond academia, he mentors managers at Intel and volunteers in STEM education programs such as Junior Achievement and Intel ISEF.
Awards & Impact: Recipient of over 100 career awards in engineering excellence, leadership, and teaching. His contributions include resolving manufacturing excursions and advancing teamwork methodologies in corporate environments.
