Keri Holt is a Professor and Associate Department Head in the American Studies Department at Utah State University. Her research focuses on 18th- and 19th-century American literature across North and South America, with expertise in regional studies of the U.S. South, Southwest, and borderlands, as well as interdisciplinary cultural studies integrating history, literature, ethnic studies, and visual culture.

Dr. Holt specializes in American Gothic literature, regional literature, and protest literature. Her publications include Reading These United States: Federal Literacy in the Early Republic (2018), which examines linguistic and political frameworks in early American literature, and the co-edited volume Mapping Region in Early American Writing (2015), analyzing spatial and cultural dynamics in early American texts.
Dr. Holt actively advises graduate students on topics spanning American cultural studies, regional literature, and interdisciplinary media analysis. She teaches foundational courses on 18th-19th-century American literature, emphasizing Gothic themes, regional identities, and protest movements.
