Bryson Kisner

Bryson Kisner is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Wake Forest University's History Department, specializing in the U.S. South and Southwest with focus on borderlands and environmental history. His current manuscript project examines the Texas-Louisiana borderlands during the 19th century.

Research explores:

• Spatial and ecological transformations in the Sabine River Valley
• Commemoration practices of Civil War figures
• Confederate naval history and its memorialization
• Interdisciplinary approaches to American borderlands

He employs archival research methods to analyze how regional identities formed through interactions between human communities and natural environments.
