Kenneth Whaley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of South Florida, within the College of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on public sector and urban economics, with emphasis on education, housing, and neighborhood quality. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Clemson University and a business degree from Florida A&M School of Business and Industry.
His research explores topics such as residential segregation, education funding disparities, and the economic impacts of public policies. Recent work includes analyses of neighborhood boundary effects, racial segregation costs, and teacher funding adequacy.
Dr. Whaley’s scholarship bridges theoretical and applied economics, addressing critical issues in urban development and public resource allocation. His work contributes to policy debates on equitable education systems and housing markets.
