Kenneth Ross

Dr. Kenneth Ross is Professor of Theology and Dean of Postgraduate Studies at Zomba Theological College in Malawi. He concurrently serves as Visiting Professor at multiple institutions including the University of Livingstonia, Nile Theological College (South Sudan), and the Evangelical Church of Christ in Mozambique. As a Theological Educator (Africa) with the Church of Scotland, he specializes in missions, church history, and interfaith relations. His leadership roles include chairing the WCC’s mission affirmation 'Together Towards Life' (2012) and co-chairing the 'Arusha Call to Discipleship' (2018). He edits the Edinburgh Companions to Global Christianity book series and previously held roles as Professor at University of Malawi, General Secretary of the Church of Scotland Board of World Mission, and Chair of the Scotland Malawi Partnership.

His research focuses on missiology, African church history, and ethical dimensions of religious practice. Key contributions include analyzing mission renewal, documenting Malawi's church history, and addressing contemporary challenges like governance reform and pandemic responses. He has received the OBE (2016) for community service in Malawi and fostering Scotland-Malawi relations.
