Kenneth L. Reed

Kenneth L. Reed, DMD is a part-time instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Dental Medicine, where he also serves as director of the advanced education certificate program in dental anesthesiology since spring 2023. In addition to his UNLV role, he is an affiliate assistant professor in the Department of Periodontology at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU). Dr. Reed is a retired periodontist and former associate program director of the dental anesthesiology residency at Lutheran Medical Center and New York University.

Research & Clinical Interests

Dr. Reed’s scholarly and clinical work centers on dental anesthesiology, sedation safety, and emergency preparedness in the dental office. His research spans comparative studies of enteral sedation agents, management of pediatric sedation emergencies, local and regional anesthetic techniques, and pharmacological reviews of anesthetic agents. He has authored more than two dozen peer-reviewed articles and contributed chapters to leading textbooks on sedation and behavior management in dentistry.
