Kenneth K Metzker is a Lecturer in the School of Theatre and Dance and School of Music at the University of Florida. He specializes in Afro-Cuban and Brazilian folkloric music, with expertise in percussion and dance accompaniment.
- Bachelor of Music in Performance (Percussion) from the University of Kentucky under James B. Campbell.
- Studied Afro-Cuban/Brazilian folkloric music with Michael Spiro and Los Muñequitos de Matanzas.
His career spans global collaborations, including residencies in Brazil, performances at international festivals, and contributions to dance programs across U.S. universities. He currently teaches musical accompaniment and coordinates music for dance at the University of Florida.
Kenneth Metzker has performed at notable venues such as the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami, participated in the Third World Marimba Competition (2002), and premiered original Afro-Cuban compositions at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (2001). He has also taught in Miami's public schools and worked as a freelance musician from 2005–2018.
