Professor Kenneth G. Dau-Schmidt holds the Willard and Margaret Carr Professorship of Labor and Employment Law at Indiana University's Maurer School of Law. With a PhD in Economics (1984) and J.D. from University of Michigan, he has taught Labor Law, Employment Law, and Antitrust Law since the 1980s.

His research spans Labor Law, Employment Law, and Law & Economics, with 15+ recent works addressing topics from non-compete clauses to caste discrimination in employment contexts. Articles show particular focus on technology's impact on labor, collective bargaining, and worker classification in the gig economy.

Active in faculty governance as Bloomington Faculty Council member (2016-2020, 2022-24) and Athletics Committee representative (2016-2022). Has taught at universities in Germany, France, Taiwan, and China, and serves as affiliated faculty at Peking University's School of Transnational Law.
