Kenneth Dautrich is an Associate Professor Emeritus in the School of Public Policy at the University of Connecticut. He holds a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Scranton (1985) and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Rutgers University (1994). His expertise includes survey research methods, public opinion analysis, voting behavior, and policy evaluation. He pioneered UConn’s Masters of Survey Research (MSR) program, emphasizing hands-on training in questionnaire design, data analysis, and report writing.
Dr. Dautrich has conducted extensive polling work, including election polls for Time Magazine, exit polls for NBC News, and annual surveys for the First Amendment Center. He has also contributed market research insights to Fortune 500 companies, highlighting the 25 billion dollar industry’s reliance on surveys. His teaching spans political polling and market research methodologies, leveraging real-world projects to enhance student learning.
He developed UConn’s online Graduate Program in Survey Research, attracting students globally. The program’s discussion forums foster diverse student collaboration. Dautrich emphasizes the evolving nature of survey research and its critical role in politics and business, noting its impact on decision-making processes.
