معرفی
Dr Kenn Lu is a Research Fellow in Microbial Ecology and Wastewater Microbiology at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), affiliated with the Water Innovation and Smart Environments Laboratory under Prof Yang Liu. He holds a PhD in Microbiology from The University of Queensland (2014) and has extensive postdoctoral experience at UQ's Advanced Water Management Centre and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).
Education:
- Doctor of Philosophy (Microbiology), The University of Queensland (2014)
- Bachelor of Biotechnology, The University of Queensland
Research Interests: Dr Lu focuses on applying cutting-edge molecular technologies like metagenomics and proteomics to understand microbial communities in wastewater treatment systems. His work spans anaerobic digestion, nutrient recovery, and novel phenomena in wastewater microbiology. Notably, he has explored biomimetic materials from Velvet worms and developed strategies for PFAS waste management.
Advising & Grants: Currently supervising Honours/Masters/PhD students focusing on landfill leachate treatment and bio-additives for toxic waste management. His research has been applied in real-world contexts like ANAMMOX/DAMO bacteria systems and sustainable single-cell protein production.
Labs & Teams: Active member of the Water Innovation and Smart Environments Laboratory, collaborating with industry partners on wastewater innovation projects.
