معرفی
Kendra E. Murray is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences at Idaho State University (ISU) in Pocatello, Idaho. Her academic work focuses on integrating low-temperature thermochronology with geochemical and numerical tools to study magmatic, tectonic, and surface processes. She actively collaborates with students and leads research initiatives at ISU.
Her research spans disciplines such as geology, geochemistry, and geophysics, with specific emphasis on thermochronology, thermal history modeling, and tectonic evolution. Recent work includes analyzing flood basalt systems in Oregon and investigating Rodinia supercontinent rifting in the Rocky Mountains.
The trends in her publications highlight interdisciplinary applications of thermochronology, paleomagnetic techniques, and numerical modeling to constrain geological thermal histories. Her work has appeared in journals like Geosphere and Tectonics.
Scientific Awards
- GSA Graduate Student Research Grant awarded to student Zachary Ellia (2025).
Kendra advises graduate students such as Elisha Manandhar (MS thesis defense, 2025) and Becca Goughnour (lead author on Geosphere paper, 2025). She also organizes short courses on thermal history modeling and geo-thermo-petro-chronology, including sessions at Thermo2025 and GSA Connects 2025.
