Dr. Kenda Morrison is a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Behavior Analysis within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Texas. She earned her Ph.D. in Developmental and Child Psychology from the University of Kansas in 1999 under the tutelage of Dr. Donald Baer and has been teaching distance learning courses for UNT since 2011.
Dr. Morrison's research primarily focuses on Distance Learning Pedagogy, examining its effectiveness, social validity, and temporal discounting. Her scholarly work also encompasses autism intervention strategies, with extensive experience working with children with autism through programs including the Early Childhood Autism Program in Lawrence, KS, the UCLA Young Autism Project, and Princeton Child Development Institute. For 28 years, she applied Applied Behavior Analysis to support children with autism and their families, including supervising in-home intervention teams through her private practice.
Her publication record spans from 1993 to 2020, with research trends showing consistent focus on autism intervention techniques, particularly examining how object preferences affect task performance and stereotypy in children with autism. Her work often explores cognitive strategies like self-instruction to improve learning outcomes and social skills training for children with autism.
Dr. Morrison has published studies in peer-reviewed journals and has presented talks and workshops throughout several states, contributing significantly to the field of behavior analysis and autism intervention.
