Kelson Bohnet is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Kansas School of Law. He is currently a trial lawyer in the Death Penalty Defense Unit of the Kansas Board of Indigents’ Defense Services (BIDS), specializing in jury selection, motions writing, and sentencing advocacy. He trains legal professionals in these skills nationally and locally. Bohnet holds a J.D. and a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Denver (2012) and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University (2007).
He serves on BIDS' Legislative Committee and co-chairs the agency’s Jury Selection & Service Subcommittee. Previously, he worked as a capital defender for the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission and began his career with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Denver Trial Office. His teaching focuses on jury selection techniques.
