Kelly Riesenmy

Dr. Kelly Riesenmy serves as Professor and Program Director of the Master of Business Administration within Mid-America Christian University's College of Adult Graduate Studies and School of Business Leadership. She joined MACU in 2013 and was promoted to Associate Professor and Program Director in 2018.

Her academic credentials include:

• PhD in Organizational Leadership, Regent University School of Business Leadership (2011)
• MA in Psychology, University of Missouri-Kansas City (1992)

Dr. Riesenmy's research integrates organizational theory with healthcare systems, focusing on leadership motivation, physician adoption of electronic health records, medical governance sense-making, and organizational impacts on substance abuse treatment outcomes. Her 30-year career bridges academic scholarship with practical applications in behavioral health systems, reflecting deep expertise in translating leadership principles to complex clinical environments. This interdisciplinary approach connects business administration with public health through organizational behavior frameworks.

As an independent consultant, she has implemented EHR systems for hospital networks and collaborated with the University of Georgia Center for Behavioral Research on national substance abuse treatment studies. Her professional background includes over a decade of clinical management in behavioral health and service as Veterans Affairs regional faculty (1989-1993), demonstrating consistent engagement with real-world healthcare challenges.
