Kelly M. Meek is an Assistant Professor and Gina Cody Research Chair in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at Concordia University. She joined Concordia in 2024 after previously serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa. Her research focuses on polymers for sustainability, including polymer electrolytes for fuel cells, biobased plastics, and nanocomposites.
Dr. Meek earned her PhD from Texas A&M University. Her work spans electrochemical energy systems, sustainable materials, and polymer chemistry. She actively supervises graduate students in Chemical Engineering (MASc and PhD) through the Meek Research Group.
Recent publications highlight her contributions to pressure-sensitive adhesives using cellulose nanocrystals, lignin-based shape memory materials, and anion exchange membranes for fuel cells. Her research emphasizes green chemistry, 3D printable sustainable composites, and polymerized ionic liquids for energy applications.
Notable recognitions include the Editor's Choice award for her 2021 work on fuel cell membranes. Her expertise bridges polymer synthesis, electrochemical characterization, and sustainable material design, positioning her as a key contributor to clean energy and circular materials research.
