Professor Kelly Fielding is a faculty member at the University of Queensland (UQ), holding positions in the School of Communication and Arts (primary) and as an Affiliate Professor in the School of Psychology. She also affiliates with multiple interdisciplinary centers, including the Centre for Marine Science, the Centre for Communication and Social Change, and the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Science. Her research focuses on understanding social and psychological factors influencing environmentally sustainable behaviors, with a particular emphasis on climate change communication, sustainable urban water management, and biodiversity conservation.
Education: Kelly Fielding earned a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor (Honours) of Arts, and a Doctor of Philosophy, all from the University of Queensland.
Research Interests: Her work spans environmental psychology, climate change communication, and the intersection of human behavior with sustainability. She investigates topics such as community engagement with water technologies, climate skepticism, and strategies to promote pro-environmental decisions. Recent projects include studies on conservation covenants, urban water security, and the psychological underpinnings of environmental activism.
