Kelli Stajduhar is a Professor at the University of Victoria's School of Nursing and Research Affiliate with Island Health. She holds fellowships in the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and Canadian Academy of Nursing. Her research advances equity-informed palliative care models for vulnerable populations.
Research examines palliative approaches for structurally vulnerable groups, family caregiving burdens, and health system integration. Current projects focus on homelessness, mental illness, and Indigenous health disparities.
Recent publications analyze equity gaps in palliative services, community-based care innovations, and policy impacts during COVID-19. Research employs mixed methods including ethnography, participatory action research, and knowledge translation frameworks.
Awards recognize leadership in nursing research and knowledge mobilization. Major honors include the CASN Excellence Award and UBC Centenary Medal.
Advising includes mentorship of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in palliative care research. She directs studies funded by CIHR, Canadian Cancer Society, and Vancouver Foundation examining care models for marginalized communities.
Leads the UVic Palliative Approaches to Care research group and collaborates on international studies of compassionate community frameworks.
