Kelli O'Connor serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at Connecticut College since 2016, specializing in clarinet performance. She holds concurrent teaching positions at University of Rhode Island, Central Connecticut State University, Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, and InterHarmony Music Festival in Italy.
Her research interests center on Clarinet Performance and Chamber Music, with extensive practical expertise demonstrated through her vibrant career as a soloist, educator, and orchestral musician. She maintains active performance engagements while directing educational initiatives like the Waterford High School Clarinet Choir.
O'Connor has performed as principal clarinet with Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra and previously with Connecticut Orchestra, Vermont Symphony, Hartford Symphony, and New Haven Symphony. Her solo performances include Copland's Clarinet Concerto and West Coast premiere of Oscar Navarro's II Concerto.
As an educator, she founded the Waterford High School Clarinet Choir and has presented masterclasses at multiple universities. Her performance career includes collaborations with Placido Domingo, Martha Reeves, and Lorrie Morgan during her tenure with the United States Coast Guard Band.
