Dr. Kelli Gardner serves as an Associate Professor of Psychology in the School of Professional Studies at Peru State College, where she has taught since 2009 after establishing Waldorf College's psychology program. Her office is located in TJM 236 with contact email kgardner@peru.edu.
She earned her PhD (2005), MS (2003), and BS (2000) in Psychology from Iowa State University, following graduation from Forest City High School in 1996.
Her research examines social support during stressful events and relationship satisfaction in long-distance romantic partnerships, with significant focus on undergraduate research mentoring that has produced student presentations at the Midwestern Psychological Association and Great Plains Undergraduate Psychology Conference.
Dr. Gardner has received teaching excellence awards at both Iowa State University and Waldorf College.
She directed the Honors Program (2012-2016), advised PRIDE (Peru State's LGBTQIA+ student organization) from 2016-2021, and established the Psychology program's Psi Chi chapter in 2017.
