Keith Winwood

Dr. Keith Winwood is a Reader in the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), part of the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences. He also holds a Visiting Senior Lecturer position at King's College London in the Academic Centre of Reconstructive Science. His research focuses on biomechanics, sports injury prevention, and advanced materials for sports applications, with particular expertise in protective equipment design, finite element modeling, and bone health. He leads the MSc Clinical Science (Reconstructive Science) program and teaches courses such as Integrating Studies in Reconstructive Science and Prosthetic Rehabilitation.

His research explores topics including additive manufacturing in medical devices, impact injury prediction using computational models, and the biomechanical properties of sports protective gear.
