Dr. Keith Spiller is an Associate Professor of Criminology at the University of Southampton's Department of Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology. His research focuses on security measures, counter-terrorism strategies, surveillance technologies, and regulatory compliance. He leads the Leverhulme Trust-funded project on Watch Groups and has previously worked on projects like 'Monetize Me' (EPSRC) and 'Increasing Resilience in Surveillance Society' (EU FP7). He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and supervises PhD students in areas related to counter-terrorism and surveillance. Spiller serves on the editorial board of Surveillance and Society and has published widely on topics such as the Prevent Duty in UK higher education and digital surveillance impacts.
