Keith Gaynor

Dr. Keith Gaynor is an Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology at University College Dublin (UCD) School of Psychology and a Senior Clinical Psychologist in DETECT, Early Intervention in Psychosis Services. He holds a PhD and DPsychSc from UCD and King's College London. His research focuses on psychosis, early intervention in adolescent mental health, and aviation well-being. He leads the POPlab (Psychology of Psychosis research lab) and has authored a self-help book, *Protecting Mental Health*. He teaches on clinical psychology training programs, including modules on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), PTSD, depression, and anxiety disorders.

Research interests include trauma pathways to psychosis, suicidality in adolescents, and emotional regulation. He has secured grants for projects such as 'Education for parents on adolescent self-harm' (2021–2022) and 'Living Well with the New Normal' (2020–2021). His work has been featured in media collaborations, including appearances on *The Ryan Tubridy Show* and *Prime Time*.

Recent publications (2021–2025) explore topics like work-related stress in aviation, psychological models of long-COVID distress, and trauma's role in psychosis. He actively engages in peer review for journals such as *Psychosis* and *Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica*.

Teaching includes coordinating modules like 'Adult Clinical Psychology' and 'Clinical and Counseling Skills Workshop.'
