معرفی
Keith Davidson is a Professor at the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) within the University of the Highlands and Islands. His research focuses on marine microbes, particularly phytoplankton and harmful algal blooms (HABs), with an emphasis on their impacts on aquaculture and human health. He holds a PhD in Predator-Prey Interactions from the University of Strathclyde (1993) and a BSc in Physics (1989).
Current projects include CAMPUS (shelf sea monitoring), PRIMROSE (European HAB early warning), Arctic PRIZE (sea ice and productivity), and Shelleye-2 (satellite-based HAB detection). He advises on aquaculture safety via weekly HAB bulletins through habreports.org.
Research interests span HAB dynamics, nutrient cycling, and marine biogeochemistry. Recent work addresses HAB prediction models, toxin exposure in wildlife, and stressor impacts on farmed salmon. His contributions include over 165 publications and 160+ professional activities.
Labs/teams: Core contributor to SAMS's Aquaculture Research Network, leading interdisciplinary projects with global partners in aquaculture sustainability and marine ecosystem management.
