Keith Bohannon is a Professor of History at the University of West Georgia, located within the Department of History in the School of Humanities, part of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. He specializes in the US Civil War and Reconstruction, the American South, and Georgia History. His research explores interactions between soldiers and civilians during the Civil War, particularly in Georgia. Dr. Bohannon holds a B.A. (1989) and M.A. (1993) from the University of Georgia, and a Ph.D. (2001) from Pennsylvania State University.
His teaching portfolio includes courses such as U.S. History I, Jacksonian America, Civil War/Reconstruction, and History of Georgia. He has also contributed to National Parks as a historian and exhibits planner.
