Kefala Paraskevi is a Professor of International Relations in the Middle East at the Department of Mediterranean Studies, University of the Aegean, Rhodes, Greece, and serves as Director of the Center for Mediterranean and Middle-eastern Policy and Culture (KEMMEP), driving research on regional policy and cultural dynamics.
Her academic foundation includes:

- Post-graduate studies in Political Sciences – International Relations at Université de Paris II

Her research critically examines geopolitical conflicts across the Middle East and Balkans, with deep expertise in Palestinian statehood struggles, Lebanese political evolution, Iraqi governance challenges, and Turkish regional influence. She analyzes how political Islam shapes regional dynamics while assessing security implications of U.S. and Russian foreign policies. Her work consistently connects theoretical frameworks to real-world policy outcomes in volatile contexts.
Through KEMMEP leadership, she orchestrates interdisciplinary research initiatives examining Mediterranean-Middle Eastern cultural intersections and policy formulations, fostering academic-practitioner dialogue on regional stability.
