Keeley Harvey is a Forensic Lecturer at the University of Surrey's Sociology department. She joined in 2024 after a 18-year career with Surrey Police, where she specialized as a Crime Scene Investigator handling complex cases including sexual assaults, violent crimes, fires, and major incidents like murders and unexplained deaths. She has extensive experience in evidence collection, report preparation, and providing expert testimony in courts.
Education includes a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Biology (University of Portsmouth, 2005), a Crime Scene Examination Diploma (University of Durham, 2008), and certifications in ISO 17020/17025 auditing, forensic lab operations, and crime scene investigation techniques. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.
Teaching focuses on Level 4 and 5 forensic investigation modules such as Academic Skills for Criminology, Forensic Criminology, and Becoming a Criminologist. Consultation hours are available by appointment in 24AD03.
