Kedron Thomas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Delaware, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. Previously, she held an associate professorship at Washington University in St. Louis. She earned her Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from Harvard University (2012). Her work focuses on globalization, fashion industry dynamics, intellectual property law, and environmental sustainability. Thomas’s research explores the cultural politics of style, indigenous entrepreneurship in Guatemala, and ethical labor practices in global supply chains. She leads projects like ReSpool, a circular textile supply chain initiative, and investigates sustainability efforts in the fashion industry through her current book project.
Her research interests include the cultural dimensions of entrepreneurship, material culture production, and the intersection of race/ethnicity with legal frameworks. Notable works include Regulating Style: Intellectual Property Law and the Business of Fashion in Guatemala (2016) and edited volumes on Latin American politics and legal anthropology. Thomas also engages in pedagogical innovation, focusing on study skills development for first-year students through her teaching at UD.
Her most recent publications (2022–2025) address textile circularity, post-conflict economic dynamics in Latin America, and corporate sustainability strategies. She collaborates widely, including with institutions like Duke University Press and academic journals such as Latin American Politics and Society.
