Kayla Walker Edin is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Liberal Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), specializing in English literature. She holds a Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University and has taught at institutions including Milligan College and Portland State University. Her research focuses on intersections of gender, literature, and historical context, with notable work on Chaucer, Victorian narratives, and feminist critiques of modernist authors like Woolf and Conrad.
Edin's academic leadership roles include directing SCAD's Liberal Arts department and previously leading Milligan College's Women's and Gender Studies program. She has presented widely at conferences such as the Modern Language Association and British Women Writers Conference, addressing topics from medieval consent dynamics to academic parenting challenges. Her publications include analyses of Sui Sin Far's immigrant narratives and co-authored works on gender equity in higher education.
Edin received the Philips Fund Grant (2019–20) and has engaged in community outreach through lectures like 'Jane Austen on Stage.' Her work bridges literary analysis with practical academic advocacy, emphasizing inclusive pedagogy and interdisciplinary approaches to gender studies.
