Kaushik Sengupta is Professor and Chair of the Department of Management & Entrepreneurship at the Zarb School of Business, Hofstra University. He also serves as Associate Dean for Business Graduate Education and Executive Director of the Online MBA Program. His academic and professional roles reflect strong leadership in business education and operations research.
Dr. Sengupta holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Business Administration from Indiana University Bloomington, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, and a B.E. from Jadavpur University.
His primary research interests lie in operations management and supply chain management, with expanding work in quality management, supply chain security, healthcare operations, and the integration of operations with other business functions. He is also engaged in research related to distance learning and curriculum development in business education.
Dr. Sengupta's research has been published in top-tier journals such as Operations Research, Journal of Supply Chain Management, International Journal of Production Research, and others, highlighting his contributions to both theoretical and applied aspects of supply chain practices across industries.

Professional Affiliations and Service: Dr. Sengupta is an active member of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), where he served as Vice President of Marketing on the Board of Directors and chaired multiple conference tracks, including the Annual Case Competition and the Instructional Innovation Award Competition. He is also affiliated with the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) and the Institute of Supply Management (ISM). He has been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma and Alpha Iota Delta, prestigious business and decision sciences honor societies.
Dr. Sengupta has previously taught at Indiana University, Michigan State University, and Bucknell University. Before entering academia, he worked in industry as Director of Supply Chain Management Solutions at i2 Technologies, Inc., bringing practical experience into his teaching and research.
