Katy Kobel is an Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program at Shenandoah University. She holds a B.S. in Health Sciences and a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) from Saint Francis University. Her professional experience spans pediatric settings including early intervention, outpatient care, school-based therapy, aquatic therapy, and therapeutic gymnastics, as well as geriatric care in home settings and senior living communities. She is LSVT-certified and has managerial experience in rehabilitation operations.
Her research interests focus on therapeutic interventions across the lifespan, particularly innovative approaches in pediatric and geriatric occupational therapy. Current investigations include vision-related deficits in neurological rehabilitation.
Personal highlights include enjoying family time with her husband, two children, and dogs, along with travel, tennis, volleyball, and culinary experiences.
