Whitney DuPree

Whitney DuPree serves as Assistant Professor and Embedded Faculty in Belmont University's College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, teaching across both the Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) programs.

Her educational foundation includes a Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Belmont University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Toledo. Clinical expertise developed since 2014 in sub-acute skilled nursing facilities with geriatric populations directly informs her academic work.

Research interests focus on geriatric occupational therapy, rehabilitation science, and skilled nursing care applications. Her embedded faculty model uniquely integrates active clinical practice with academic instruction, ensuring curriculum relevance through direct patient care experience.

As an embedded educator, Dr. DuPree prioritizes translating real-world clinical challenges into academic training, particularly regarding therapeutic interventions for older adults in sub-acute care settings. This approach strengthens student preparedness for geriatric occupational therapy practice.
