Katri Cornelissen is an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at Northumbria University, UK. She holds dual roles as Faculty Director of Transnational Education and Academic Lead for the St George's Medical School partnership. Her work focuses on global educational collaboration, particularly in health and life sciences, spanning Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and Spain. She leads partnerships with St George's University (Grenada), ensuring academic quality and program development for medical education.
Her research centers on body image, eating disorders (e.g., anorexia nervosa, muscle dysmorphia), and perceptual distortions. She has developed experimental tools to assess body image perception and collaborated internationally (Norway, Germany, Australia). She teaches eating disorders to medical and psychology students and supervises PhD projects in body image.
