Stacey Nye is a Clinical Professor and Psychology Clinic Director in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), within the College of Letters & Science. She holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University Medical School (1991). Her professional membership includes being a Founding Fellow of the Academy for Eating Disorders.
Dr. Nye's research and clinical focus centers on eating and body image disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder. She advocates for Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size approaches, specializing in Family-Based treatment for Anorexia and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for eating disorders. Her broader interests encompass Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Group Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Existential Psychotherapy, and Positive Psychology.
While she does not run a research lab or serve as a primary adviser for graduate students, she actively supervises clinical training, lectures, and contributes as a research committee member. Her work is deeply integrated with the UWM Psychology Clinic.
