Piers Cornelissen is a Professor in the Psychology Department at Northumbria University. He holds a PhD in Physiology, an MBBS in Medicine, and a BA in Physiology. His research focuses on body image, eating disorders, perceptual body image tasks, and neuromagnetic correlates of cognitive processes. He has supervised three PhD students, including Katri Cornelissen.
Education: PhD in Physiology (1992), MBBS (1987), BA in Physiology (1984).
Research Interests: Body Image, Eating Disorders, Perceptual Distortion, Neuromagnetic Imaging, 3D Body Modeling, and Cross-Cultural Perception. His work explores how body size perception influences clinical outcomes and societal attitudes.
