Katlyn O'Shaughnessy is a Lecturer and TA Hiring Officer in the Department of Rhetoric at the University of Iowa. She directs the Professional Development Practicum (PDP), a training program for new rhetoric instructors. With a PhD in American Literature from the University of Iowa, her research focuses on gatekeeping in academic communities, trauma-sensitive pedagogy, and inclusive teaching practices. She emphasizes connecting with students and fostering an academically grounding environment for first-year undergraduates.
