Ashley Conklin is an Assistant Professor in the Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program (WSAP) at the University of Rochester. She teaches first-year composition and courses on professional communication for engineering students, while co-teaching a practicum for new WSAP instructors. Her interdisciplinary approach emphasizes rhetorical analysis, audience adaptation, and multimodal texts, grounded in global perspectives.
Education: Ph.D. in English from the University of Rochester, M.A. in English from Boston College, and current completion of a MLIS in Information and Library Sciences at the University at Buffalo. Research interests include the intersection of race, religion, and gender in late medieval English identity, alongside studies on information equity and how information organization impacts research practices.
A member of WSAP's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, she advocates for equitable practices in pedagogy and information systems. Office located in G-138H Rush Rhees Library.
