Katja Arzt

Katja Arzt is a Professor at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE), specializing in Sustainable Regional Development and Social Processes. Since 2021, she leads the International Master's Program in Sustainable Regional Development (NaRegio), focusing on holistic project design, regional public relations, EU multilevel policy, and actor groups in rural development.

Her research spans environmental cooperation models, participatory processes in biosphere reserves, and institutional frameworks for sustainable development. She has authored publications analyzing agrar-environmental forums, EU regional policies, and ecological restoration projects.

Recent publications highlight her work on protected areas-business partnerships, renaturation of river ecosystems, and cross-border project collaboration in EU frameworks. She also contributes to policy analysis through case studies in Brandenburg and EU-wide regionalization challenges.
