Dr. Katie Lebel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at the University of Guelph's Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics. Her work focuses on gender equity, sport fandom, and innovative business models in sport. She holds a Ph.D. from The University of Western Ontario, alongside a Master of Arts in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Sports Management from St. John's University.
Research Interests: Dr. Lebel's interdisciplinary work addresses gender equity challenges in sport retail, fan behavior analysis, and marketing strategies for next-gen audiences. She explores how digital platforms influence fan engagement and brand loyalty, particularly for women's sports. Her projects often intersect with social justice principles, advocating for systemic changes in sport apparel markets and media representation.
Key Affiliations: Affiliated Scholar at the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport, Member of the National Network for Research on Gender Equity in Canadian Sport, and Founding Scholar of The Collective at Wasserman.
