Katie Jones

Katie Jones is an Associate Professor of Law at the Duncan School of Law, Lincoln Memorial University. She serves as the Director of Academic Success and Assessment, teaching courses such as Legal Foundations I & II, Estate Planning, and Bar Examination Skills.

• Education: B.A. in Political Science and Sociology with a minor in Social and Economic Justice from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill; J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law.

Research and Practice Areas: Professor Jones specializes in Tax Law, Estate Planning, and Family Law, with extensive experience in Civil Litigation, Worker’s Compensation, and Legal Advocacy. Her work includes representing clients in Federal Tax Court litigation and administrative proceedings.

Scientific Awards:

• American Bar Association Section of Taxation Public Service Tax Fellowship (2010), a fully-funded national award focusing on low-income tax clinic services.

Community Engagement: She volunteers with community organizations and is fluent in Spanish, enhancing her ability to serve diverse populations in legal advocacy.
