Dr. Kathryne L Everts is a Professor and Director of the Wye Research and Education Center and the Harry Hughes Center for Agro-Ecology at the University of Maryland. She specializes in plant pathology and sustainable agricultural practices. Her research focuses on economically significant vegetable diseases in the mid-Atlantic region, including soilborne diseases like Fusarium wilt and white mold, as well as foliar diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew. She develops disease management strategies integrating cover cropping, biological soil amendments, and fungicide reduction practices.
