Kathryn Skemp Moran is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She specializes in musical theater voice and serves as music director for productions, conducting pit orchestras and preparing vocalists. Her performance background includes roles with Boston Lyric Opera, Madison Opera, and appearances with the Boston Pops.
Her research focuses on vocal pedagogy for musical theatre, music direction techniques, and interdisciplinary approaches to performance. Recent work explores the integration of classical vocal technique with contemporary musical theatre demands.
