She leads projects on stormwater wetlands, sewage contamination, and recycled water effects, collaborating with Melbourne Water and other organizations.
Teaching responsibilities include coordinating Environmental Sampling and Analysis and The Hydrosphere, while also contributing to courses in marine biology, ecotoxicology, and environmental chemistry. She actively supervises Science Project, Honours, Masters, and PhD students, offering expertise in aquatic ecotoxicology and environmental monitoring.
- Research Interests: Bioaccumulation, ecotoxicology, water quality assessment, and sustainable environmental management
- Key Projects: Melbourne Water sediment quality studies, micropollutant investigations in stormwater systems, and sewage spill impact analyses
- Professional Memberships: President of Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) Australasia
Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 6 (Clean Water), 12 (Responsible Consumption), 13 (Climate Action), and 14 (Life Below Water). Recent studies include microbial community analysis in wetlands and pesticide contamination tracking in urban catchments.
