Dr. Kathryn Friedlander is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Buckingham's School of Psychology, part of the Faculty of Computing, Law, and Psychology. She holds a BA, MA in Classics, and DPhil from Oxford University, followed by a career in the Civil Service. Her research focuses on expertise development, creative performance, and cognitive processes like puzzle-solving, medical diagnostics, and visual imagery. She authored The Psychology of Creative Performance and Expertise (2024) and leads modules on creative performance and educational psychology. Her work spans domains such as music, dance, STEM, and medical education, addressing challenges like performance anxiety and AI's impact on creativity. She co-founded the CREATE research hub and supervises postgraduate students in creativity and performance fields.
